I want to list the log I kept for my dealing with SCL Rotterdam; then you can judge whether or not you want to use this company:

1. The vehicle was picked up at my house in Germany on 29 Feb 2024.
2. I was led to believe that I would get my vehicle delivered to me at the latest on 22 March (per 2 Feb email).
3. I was told that once my vehicle was picked up, it would take 20-25 days under normal circumstances (per 2 Feb email).
4. The container that my Jeep would be on was not booked until 22 March (per 22 March. email). SCL Rotterdam had my vehicle for 23 days before it was even booked to come back to the USA.
5. After several attempts to ask my vehicle’s whereabouts, I was told, "I would have updates shortly.” Fearing my vehicle had been stolen due to the lack of communication, I contacted my insurance company for guidance. Once I informed Rotterdam SCL of this action, they started to give me updates (per 3 Apr email).
6. As of May 10, I still did not have my vehicle, nor have I been contacted to inform me when I will receive it. (promised 22 March – today is 10 May = 49 days late, and counting).
7. I did my due diligence and planned my family’s logistics for the 22 March date. I had to extend my rental vehicle to compensate for the time gap ($3,222).
8. If it weren’t for the grace of the freight-receiving entity, I would never have had any tracking information regarding my vehicle (emails can be provided upon request).
9. Vehicle arrived on 16 May (55 days late). The driver told me that if it wasn’t for the freight-receiving entity in Baltimore, I wouldn’t have gotten my vehicle for at least 10 more days. The inside of my vehicle had mold growing on the seats and smelled like mildew. I had to immediately get my car washed both inside and out.
10. A receiving fee of $2,465 was assessed that was not included in the fee, although it was highlighted in the contract that there would be a receiving fee (read the fine print), the total (just for shipment) ended up totaling $7,643.09 which is roughly half of what my vehicle is worth. If you add up the cost of the rental car extension, I paid $10, 865.09 for this.
11. The company offered me a 100 Euro discount for my troubles (per 14 May email). I respectfully declined.
