I ordered a specific item (a tea/coffee mug) after hours of searching the web. I had seen similar mugs on several sites but not the exact one that we had broken and were trying to replace. I was delighted to actually find the mug I wanted, and despite the international shipping costs, I ordered it.
When it arrived yesterday, it was NOT the mug I ordered. It was similar: Same Van Gogh painting, but the museum substituted a different size and shape mug from the one I ordered. The one that arrived was also available from domestic vendors, and had I wanted to get that one, I'd have ordered it locally.
This was a very disappointing experience.
Improvements or suggestions
If an item is no longer available, please do not automatically substitute another, without notifying the customer and giving her the option of cancelling the order.
