I enjoyed the subject matter of the course, as I felt it was conducive to everyday living. However, I felt that having some actual feedback from a teacher would have been great, especially for the... I enjoyed the subject matter of the course, as I felt it was conducive to everyday living. However, I felt that having some actual feedback from a teacher would have been great, especially for the writing, speaking, and listening sections. I found that especially for the listening sections, I was having to redo them often for having missed one or two words in a given sentence. This ended up with me just memorizing the dialogue, which I felt was less effective for me being able to apply the grammar concepts and to remember the vocabulary from the lesson. Overall, it was fine for me needing to get the course done quickly and on my own time, but I would say that for feedback on sentence construction and listening practice it would be a better experience in-person or with a Skype/video component. However, I know that components like this would likely make the course more expensive as well.

It is super flexible and well designed to study by yourself and move forward at a good pace. As any online course, you need self motivation to do your course as scheduled within the time frame you... It is super flexible and well designed to study by yourself and move forward at a good pace. As any online course, you need self motivation to do your course as scheduled within the time frame you have. But I like the different exercises and topics each chapter covers.
I started with the Dutch course beginner level A1 and A2. And I will continue to the next level. The fact that you get an official certificate at the end of one level is almost a big advantage as you can use it professionally.

Positive for listening and grammar; vocabulary advances quite quickly though and sometimes is hard to follow dialogues. More exercises on vocabulary could be helpful.

About exercises on translation from Dutch to English: translation is marked correct only if perfectly corresponds with the default one. This could be improved.

The Language Academy has been a great introduction for learning Dutch. I really enjoyed how the course has been constructed. Each unit begins with a dialogue which is relative to everyday life. The... The Language Academy has been a great introduction for learning Dutch. I really enjoyed how the course has been constructed. Each unit begins with a dialogue which is relative to everyday life. The unit then progresses to teach you about new grammar and vocabulary, or to help you with your reading, speaking, listening, and writing skills. I think this is a fairly new course as there were some mistakes from time to time however this did not hinder my learning experience. I feel very satisfied with the course and I am looking to forward to starting the next level!
