I found the course just focused on the vocabulary in the dialogues. There was no other means to increase your vocabulary or knowledge. I also found that the translation was too exact and you would... I also found that the translation was too exact and you would get it wrong if you did not translate exactly what was in the dialogues.

I have now done two Dutch courses with the Language Academy and I found both of them excellent - very clear explanations, a good balance of the 4 language skills and also fun! I believe that these... I believe that these courses have helped me enormously to make progress with my Dutch and give me confidence.

The Dutch A1 course was a really great experience overall, particularly due to the flexibility as I was able to work at my own pace. The only real issue I had with the course was that the grading at... The Dutch A1 course was a really great experience overall, particularly due to the flexibility as I was able to work at my own pace. The only real issue I had with the course was that the grading at times was strange. When asked to translate a sentence it really has to be exactly as in the prescribed dialogue in order to get all the points. For example, if the translated sentence is "There wasn't much to do." and I write "There was not much to do." then I would not receive full points which I think is a bit harsh.

The Dutch beginners 1 course is well structured and organized. The dialogs and short videos are useful and fun. I also liked how I got reply to my e-mail right away from the helping desk. The only...
