They take advantage of expat's lack of legal knowledge.
They put a minimum term in our short-term rental contract (which is void by the law). And now they are charging us one month of rent for cancellation. Even though cancellation is explicitly mentioned as tenants' legal right for short-term contracts. Dutch civil law explicitly mentions that overruling in favor of the landlord is void.
They put illegal terms in contracts in favor of their client to use your lack of legal knowledge.
They are forcing me to accept this 1-month charge and keep insisting that I have accepted it! Why should I accept to pay 2200 Euros for my legal right?!
I asked my lawyer to sue them to receive my money back and hold them responsible for the legal expenses and interest but you be aware of your rights and avoid trusting them.
They even haven't refunded the part that they agreed to after 28 days of leaving the house.
If they don't pay me the full amount within the next 14 days, I will bring them to court and tell this story to the expat groups so that everyone will be aware of their horrible service.

Stop doing illegal things in favor of your clients. We should all be committed to the law.
