No I had no doubts. I was taken in by the Gold Pig outside and thought it was a real numenist/or person who deals in gold.
The man seemed charming and all smiles before the transaction but then he seemed to sour when I asked for a receipt.

I am inexperienced at selling gold. I assumed that the buyer at the Inkoopkantoor Deventer would give me a fare price for the 18 karat gold necklace with a weight of 8,2 grams. He did not. He refused to give me a receipt for the transaction, with the gold price and the weight of the piece written on a piece of paper. He said that he would pay me 180 euros for the piece, I accepted, unaware that the gold price has risen 35% in the last six years. I already had a sell price quote of 170 euros but that was six years ago.

At home when I thought it over, I realized that there was no receipt to at least clarify the transaction. I went back to the Inkoopkantoor twice in order to obtain a receipt and some breakdown of the buying price. The first time, the man was evasive and he wouldn't give me the details about the necklace but referred instead to the gold bracelet that I had also brought in but happily didn't sell to him. I returned the next day and was told that I couldn't have a receipt. The second time I returned, the man refused to tell me how he did the calculation and he was quite rude and actually said, I''m not going to tell you. He told me not to come in each day asking what the Gold Price is, as I can work that out for myself. He knew well that I wanted a receipt. He finished by giving me just the Customs receipt which has nothing written on it.

I have sold gold in the past, but it was always very clear and a receipt was given to clarify the weight, the karat and the price. I will never return with objects to Inkoopkantoor Deventer. I was treated disrespectively by someone who made at least 50 euro profit on the gold chain.
